Go Social

Last night, I enjoyed a lovely dinner at 732 Social. It is a swanky hideout in the arts district of downtown Louisville, Kentucky. Not only was I awed by the delicious food, but I was just drooling over the design. The space was designed by Jake Cohen, although I couldn't find any information on his firm online. The exposed wood beams are gorgeous and even the cloth napkins are darling. I highly recommend checking out this restaurant if only to covet the space for your own.

Blessings.

Indigenous Living

I have really been intrigued lately by indigenous homes. As I stumbled across www.charitywater.org , there was an article on the lifestyles of the Bayaka people living in the Central African Republic. The emphasis I want to make is how can we utilize design to live simply and humbly. I don't deny that I would drop some serious change on just the right pair of nightstands or even splurge on decadent candles to fill my home with just the right aroma of a freshly baked Christmas cookie. However, focus on how you can craft your home while maintaining a balance of austerity and comfort.

i'm loving it.....no not mcdonald's

Task Lighting:

One of my new favorites for brightening up that work table while you slave over a research paper or that big project for work. In addition to that steaming cup of joe this industrial-inspired beaut will make the minutes go by faster.

peace.
